5 Day Private Garden Route Tour From Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth) to Cape Town.

Our 5 day Garden Route tours are a great way to explore the Western Cape, Little Karoo, Whale Route, and Addo Elephant National Park. This tour has a good mix of nature, culture and adventure, so you can experience the best the area has to offer. This tour starts in Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth) and ends in Cape Town, and can depart any day of the week.
Day 1 | Highlights: Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth) - Tsitsikamma
We depart from Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth) in the morning for Addo. We will spend the morning exploring Addo Elephant National Park. We will spend up to 3-4 hours exploring the 28,000-hectare National reserve with over 600 elephant and some Cape buffalo, lion, black rhino, warthog, zebra, eland, kudu, hartebeest and many more animals. After an exciting morning of game viewing we will drive to Tsitsikamma.

Day 2 | Garden Route -Tsitsikamma - Knysna
After an early breakfast, off to Tsitsikamma National Park. The first part of the day will be spent in Tsitsikamma National Park with its unique combination of indigenous forest and beautiful Indian Ocean coastline. The park has a wide choice of activities for all, including hiking, crossing a suspension bridge and swimming. En route we will stop at Bloukrans Bridge to view the world’s highest bungee jump bridge (216 meters). There is plenty of time for the adventure seekers among you to test their courage. In the afternoon we will continue along the Garden Route to Knysna. The up-market little town of Knysna, is filled with curios, restaurants and a waterfront, as well as visit the Knysna Heads viewpoint for some spectacular views over Knysna River estuary and the Indian Ocean.

Day 3 | Highlights: Oudtshoorn - Route 62 - Montagu
After breakfast, we cross the spectacular Outeniqua Mountain pass and travel through to the famous town Oudtshoorn in the Little Karoo, known as the Ostrich Capital of the World. You will be able to experience the subterranean beauty of the Cango Caves on a guided tour. Via the scenic and spectacular Route 62, which is South Africa’s longest wine route, we make our way to Montagu.

Day 4 | Highlights: Wine tasting in the Robertson Wine Valley - Cape Agulhas
After breakfast, off to one of the largest wine regions in South Africa, the Robertson Wine Valley, good for almost 22% of the total South African wine production. In the afternoon, we will drive on to Cape Agulhas, the most southern tip of Africa, where we visit a viewpoint known as the “real” place where the Indian and Atlantic Oceans meet. For the evening we head towards the seaside resort town of Hermanus, famous for hundreds of Southern Right Whales during the whale season (July to November) and many shops, restaurants and markets.

Day 5 | Highlights: Stoney Point Penguin colony - Cape Town
After breakfast we follow the scenic coastal road, stopping at Betties Bay to view a colony of endangered African penguins. After an exciting morning of spectacular sceneries and penguin viewing we will drive to Cape Town, where the tour will conclude.

Side information:
- For this trip we use only comfortable air-conditioned Land Rover Discovery’s.
- Each Land Rover can take up to 4 passengers, the larger your group the less the cost per person will be.
- Our tours take place in a Malaria free area. No anti-malaria precautions are therefore necessary. You are however advised to bring insect repellent during the summer.
- All our drivers speak fluent English and Dutch.
- Please provide a variety in clothing.
- Did you forget something, do not despair South Africa offers everything, and probably at better prices compared to home.
